The D&B Garden Show

The Garden Gal. September 26, 2011 — Debbie Cook, the Garden Gal, a master gardener and certified arborist tells us that October 10th is, historically, the first frost date in our area. Are you ready? Have a plan in place to cover your "ten thousand" green tomatoes and pay attention to the frost, then nice, then frost weather we have. Now is the time to fertilize and if you can, do it again between Halloween and Thanksgiving for a better, healthier lawn in 2012.

The Garden Gal, September 19, 2011 — Master gardener and certified arborist, Debbie Cook is ready for the leaves to fall. The first day of Autumn is Friday, September 23rd and is a good date to remember to plant your garlic. When you plant in the Fall, the garlic bulbs will have time to establish their roots which will historically give you a larger bounty the next year. The average first frost date is October 10th, so now is the time to get your lawn and garden ready.
